All players will be admitted free of charge and we will also allow infants in free of charge - this year to help pay for the astro I am proposing an increase to £5 for adults and £3 for juniors U16, however this can be confirmed at a meeting I have arranged for April (see below) Note: Remember we at St Martins FC are probably one of the cheapest teams/clubs to play for. We offer a great return for the players subs paid in - which I can confirm has only gone up £2 in the past 8 years.
Whilst it was felt St Joes was a good venue, we also found some parents requested a venue closer to home.
Well I think we have come up with the best possible venue about. It's local to most - it's a brand new facility and we may have the option of using the astro next door for the players to have a run about after their respective presentations - however this is to be confirmed.
Unfortunately I am still waiting on subs from a number of teams which is disappointing considering were now approaching the end of March (they were due in, in Jan) This has left us with a dilemma. Glenn Forsyth has been chasing me for numbers regarding ordering the trophies and to date I simply cannot give him a final figure until all of the subs are in. The harsh reality is - we need the subs in to pay for the trophies and presentation night in general (not to mention all of the other outgoings throughout the season) I will wait until this Sunday and if I still do not get the outstanding monies I will simply have to give Glenn a final figure that falls into line with subs paid to date. Please do not come moaning to me if there are not enough trophies to go round at the presentation evenings. I think I have been more than fair in waiting for this matter to be settled.
Please call me on 07793 849858 by Sunday to confirm you have collected the final subs and I will collect them from you. I have moved to Dunstable and so it will be easier for me to collect.
On a positive note: Glenn will be given a budget on a par with last years which should enable St Martins FC to once again provide a really decent set of individual and special trophies again this year. Each player will receive an individual trophy and there will be 5 special awards as in previous years. So have a think about the following - who is your:
Top Goal Scorer
Managers Player of the year
Players Player of the year
Most Improved player of the year
Supporters player of the year
The discos have been booked and the club will once again aim to provide food for the evening so you, your players and parents will simply have to turn up and enjoy the evening.
As is the case each year - we will have a raffle - the club with provide a prize or two, but we would ask each team to bring at least 3 additional prizes. Any more than that and you will spend an hour drawing tickets. Ask you parents if they have a decent unwanted Xmas gift (20 bottles of red wine doesn't go down to well)
It takes a great deal of time, effort, organising and money to put these nights on and so whilst I can/have put in place the major elements required for your evening it's really up to you to polish things off with your speeches and format of presentation. Remember we would all like to talk for 10 minutes on each player, but when your presenting 80 + trophies, it can become a little laboured. Keep it short and leave enough time for you and the parents to have a good time.
Finally : I have called for a meeting for all Managers on Wednesday 13th April at the Beds FA - 7PM. Please put this in your diaries - It will be an important meeting in terms of finalising the presentation nights and in preparation for next season. We will have an AGM in July, but in my opinion this meeting is as important, because by the time the AGM comes about I will have already submitted our intentions to the Beds FA for next season. We will also have run our annual kick start programme at St Martins (thus generating brand new team/s) and there will be one or two other things to discuss.
Wednesday 13th April at the Beds FA - 7PM. Please put this in your diaries.
