It’s was another wonderful weekend in the office for St. Martins U9’s as the crushed the mighty Shefford Saints Reds 5 goals to 1. The match was over and dusted within the first half of 25 minutes with a clear lead of 3 goals. We defiantly held the upper hand and clearly showed through out the football pitch who the boss was. - Great stuff, full of entertainment, quality goals and strong defending skills.

Here is my list of the qualifying players of the match - Lincoln Gilmartin – 3 goals, Ernest Njoroge (1 goal), Daylan Campbell (1 goal)  and our new goalkeeper Ryan Magee ( wonderful saves)

My congratulations to all our team players for working hard and hope they will display more passing and control skills in our next match with Maulden Magpies U9 at their home ground – Maulden Rec. the details to follow soon.

Details below for the game saturday.

• Kick off at 10.30 am 
• We play in Blue and White striped shirts
• Address for game is Robert Bloomfield School, Bloomfield Drive, Off Ampthill Rd, Shefford, SG17 5BU. Please advise your parents not to input the postcode into satnavs as this takes them to the side entrance which is locked, so they should aim for Bloomfield Drive (I have attached a map on a word doc). As you approach the entrance to the school on the right you will see a black gate with a NO ENTRY sign......go through this gate ignoring the sign and follow the road past the front of the school until you get to the playing fields and car park. We will be playing on the bottom left pitch as you look from the car park.
• Unfortunatley the school do not allow access to the buildings at the weekend and therefore we have no toilet facilities available.
• With regard to the "back pass rule" I am happy to either allow the back pass to be picked up by the keeper or not, as long as we both agree beforehand and my ref is informed of our decision.

St Martins U9   5 – 4  E.B Lions Whites U9

A Hat-Trick for Wonder Boy: Lincoln Gilmartin- as St Martins U9 trash E.B. Lions Whites U9 (5 goals - 4). A slow start going 2 goals down within the first ten minutes mark, but recovered well to bag 3 goals before half time, - Lincoln 2 and Thaibe Onje tapping a cool third goal.

The second half turned out to nail biting performance due to team change we had to fight hard as E.B Lions drew 4-4 with minutes to spare, but St Martin’s player of the match Lincoln Gilmartin had other ideas and spoilt the party for E.B giving us the first win as Under 9s.

Our first game is a home game on this saturday 10th Sept 2011 (10.30am kick off). All player to report in the pitch by 10.00am (St. martins de porres pry school) - please don't forget to wear your shin pads.
