Congratulations St Martins FC (2011-2012) U9 League Trophy Finalist

Congratulations - GOAL! GOAL! GOAAAL!

St Martins FC (2011-2012) U9 League Trophy Finalist

St Martins FC U9 3-2 Crawley Green Foxes

Crawley Green Foxes vs St Martins FC U9 Sat 3rd March 2012  Kick off 9.30am - venue: Crawley Green F.C

What a great day for St. Martins Football Club, primarily St Martins FC U9’s!, The Cup Final football game that was meant to have all kind of twists and turns, entertainment and never held any disappointment to the big gathering and loudest cheering funs (of both teams) who come to witness a history in the making of this beautiful game of junior’s football.
Both teams were geared to play their small hearts out and try and win the first ever cup final – St Martins FC U9’s went a head just after eleven minutes with a brilliant left shoot by the admirable Lincoln Gilmartins, giving the Foxes goalkeeper no chance. Five minutes later another killer header by another on form player -  Kienan Malone  from a corner kick  delivered by who else but the man of the march  outstanding Ernest Njoroge – That gave St Martins a two goals advantage.  However, the silky Crawley Green Foxes teams had other ideas, were not going to take defeat lying down and managed to reduce the goal tally by one before the end of first half.
Second half started where Foxes left out before the end of first half and managed to equalize soon after with a brilliant goal from Ross Hannah they star player – A well known lethal striker who if given the chance will never give defenders a minutes peace. Ross has scored some spectacular goals this season also scoring over 40 goals in the last two seasons and last years top scorer for Crawley Green Foxes.
Things on and off the pitch were getting more, and more hotter, fast and louder as both teams kept knocking and testing each other goal mouth. Both managers were under great pressure for a win each making varies changes, Then the break through come for St Martins U9 team with less than five minutes to play, when a great pass by Lincoln Gilmartins was received from the right hand side of the pitch by the only player you wish to be in that situation and he can guarantee a cool finish, the captain Musau Mwendo – cool like cucumber trashed a sweet tapping to the right side of the goal post leaving the Foxes goalkeeper Shaun Duffy begging for mercy.
You wish you’re there and see the crowed go nuts with all kind of celebrations, jumping, and dancing with joy as they started to count down the time, figure biting moments - hoping for the end of the final minute to come sooner as the Foxes kept their pressure with momentum, but all doors were closing, and very first - then the final whistle instantly drowned by funs loudest noise ever witness and the pitched was soon swamped with well wishers and noisy crowd of joyful funs.

Congratulations St Martins FC (2011-2012) U9 League Trophy Finalist

St Martins Football Club U8 were Crowned The Champions of 2011

We end the season with a bang, winning the MK Wanderers FC 6-A-Side youth tournament (under 8) without conceding a single goal.

In brief, here is what took place. We did start the tournament a bit slow we must admit, with two draws in a row, one with Great Linford Warriors (0-0) followed by Great Linford Crusaders a very strong talented team (0-0). The next game we come alive and hit MK City (3-0) that definitely raised the bar and we started getting noticed as the team to beat.

The boys were all fit and ready apart form a Little scare where our Centre back - Musau Mwendo (awesome defending) was brushed heavily on the left thigh while warming up. However, nothing could stop us as some of the key players, to name but a few Lincoln Gilmartin, Jason Fati and Ernest Njoroge started getting on the score sheet.

The next games were challenging but winnable, and here below is reflected on our favour after seven competitive games.

St. Martins FC Vs MK Wanderers Hawks (0-0) -Draw
Great Linford Rhinos Vs St Martins FC (0-2) - Win
St. Martins FC Vs Roman Rangers (2-0) - Win
and Final game was between St. Martins FC and MK Wanderers Eagles (2-0) Win, ending our season on a high.

Let me take this opportunity to first congratulate the boys for showing good sportsmanship and also displaying such an entertaining football at very tender age. WELL DONE GUYS! we adore you. (Amari Paris-Chance, Brandon Rostagni, Daylan Campbell, Ernest Njoroge, Jason Fati, Kienan Malone, Musau Mwendo, Lathan Ward, Thaibe Onje, Rio Drew and Lincoln Gilmartin)

secondly, My big thank you to all the parents for their support and endless commitments to the boys and the club’s well being. And lastly but not least to our one and only coach Ben Campbell. He never stops working hard for the team and always there for the boys and parents when need be.
Thank you.

Coach Ben Campbell and I will also take this chance to say our special thanks to our two very important members of our management team - Karen Campbell and Isabelle Pataki -Thank you very much girls

I look forward for the new season which i hope will be even better.

St martins U8 3 - 1 Luton Old Boys U8

GOAL GOAL GOAL
3 - 1
St martins U8 3 - 1 Luton Old Boys U8

First Half - we dominated as we always do, with lots of goal opportunities coming fast but in vain. Patience and persistence became the theme, not for long as usually our back players – Kienan Malone, Ernest Njoroge and Musau Mwendo constantly put good crosses along the goal mouth it was just a matter of time when we got a own goal from the Ernest cross from corner post.

Lathan Ward  (Player of The Match)
The game was getting intense when Musau Mwendo crossed another stunning ball to the goal area making it easy for Rio Drew to make it two nil. It did not take long as we settled with expectations to see a flood of goals and within 5 minutes, Musau Mwendo nicked it using his left leg a sweet tapping to make it 3-0

Second Half - was somewhat flat with little forward adventure after resting key players like Luca De Michele, Rio Drew, and Daylan Campbell. Overall, the game was already won on the first half session despite the Luton old boys getting an easy goal just before the end of the match to make it 3-1

Congratulations! This week’s player of the match was Lathan Ward and supporting player was Rio Drew
